Wynn Hazen - President

Mr. Hazen has nearly 25 years experience in health care management.  His principal focus has been providing short-term project assistance in executive management, financial and operational areas of leading health care entities.  His work spans both for-profit and not-for-profit environments and his experience includes work at both start-up and turn around businesses.

 

For twelve years prior to founding Hazen Group, Inc., Wynn served as a member of executive health plan management teams.  His recent project work includes serving as interim chief executive officer, interim chief financial officer, supporting an electronic medical record implementation, financial management support to various entities and supporting implementation of small and large information systems.

 Earlier in his career, Mr. Hazen held long-term positions in the finance and operations departments at General Electric and Healthsource.  He has also been a member of the adjunct SPEA faculty at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis teaching coursework in Health Care Finance and Budgeting.    

Mr. Hazen established Hazen Group in 1997.  His work with various clients has led to improved processes, improved financial performance and stronger team participation.  He is a focused achiever, analytical planner and consensus builder.



Carolyn Bickers

Ms. Bickers has over 30 years of experience in the health plan industry. Her senior and mid-level management experience spans multiple areas of expertise such as claims, customer service, and enrollment over a broad cross-section of TPA, Commercial / HMO, Medicare, Medicaid and CHAMPUS operations. As a Senior Consultant with the Hazen Group, Carolyn has provided interim management for several Health Plan's Customer Service, Provider Relations, and Sales Departments. In the course of her career, Ms. Bickers has participated in the start-up of new subsidiaries and has lead multiple process improvement efforts resulting in improved financial performance and service excellence.

 

 

Cynthia Boese

Cindy is a successful health care consultant with proven ability to achieve success for diverse clients such as AIG, Amerigroup and Kaiser Permanente. Some of her areas of expertise include new product development, community education and outreach programs, market research and analysis, interim management and hospital-physician collaboration. Ms. Boese’s consulting and organizational successes add value to Hazen Group clients in the areas of negotiation and business development.

Robynn Dotterer

Ms. Dotterer has over 15 years experience in the healthcare industry. Because of Robynn’s strong sense of leadership she has been able to launch and manage sales and service efforts for both start-up and existing health plan organizations. Robynn participates in teams to assist clients in their efforts to understand and comply with HIPAA. With an understanding of both the payor and provider environments, Robynn is equipped to accelerate project implementation and ensure quality outcomes.

 

 

 

Daniel Felix

Mr. Felix has brought a broad Financial and Accounting background to his role as a consultant with the Hazen Group. Dan has preformed short term roles for accounting and operations units of a provider owned health plan including work in the areas of daily cash management, preparation of financial statements, invoice processing and accounting system conversions. Mr. Felix is a focused achiever who applies his training to new and challenging roles in Finance and Operations at health benefit organizations.

Suzanne Jones

Suzanne’s managed care experience ranges from large group sales and service to corporate training. In her work she has successfully coordinated sales and service for large employer groups such as JC Penney, Inc. and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Ms. Jones HIPAA related experience includes assistance with policy development and management, support of HIPAA client projects and leadership of Hazen Group’s internal Business Associate HIPAA gap assessment project.

 

 

 

Matt Lucas

Matt has 20 years experience as an analyst, programmer and system developer in the information technology industry. Mr. Lucas has worked in all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements gathering to production support, with a major emphasis on integration and implementation. Matt’s vast experience has lead to projects with various companies developing a client/server inventory application using Visual Basic, C++ and Ingres.

Ruth Mytty

Ruth’s professional experience includes health plan provider relations, managed care program development, provider contracting, credentialing, network development, provider problem solving and health education. Ms. Mytty has successfully executed provider contracts in several states to configure Medicare, Medicaid and plan networks. No matter the project type or scope, Hazen Group clients benefit from Ruth’s hands on industry experience, organization and motivation.

Frank Reilly

Frank’s expertise ranges from general operations management to financial management for both staff and IPA model organizations. Mr. Reilly has been involved in numerous projects involving operational and organizational improvements including improved use of existing computer systems, development of financial, operational and management reporting processes. Frank has served as CEO, COO and CFO of various organizations. Frank’s experience covers all aspects of managed care organizations. He able to function at an organization’s strategic level and at the day to day operations level. Frank has demonstrated the ability to connect the two.

 

Cheryl Stacey

Ms. Stacey is a health plan executive with 30 years experience as an executive, manager and clinician. She has worked in various HMOs and insurers during the past sixteen years with responsibilities for medical management, marketing, benefit design and data analysis. Cheryl’s senior executive leadership has contributed to improved performance for both large and small health plans. Cheryl is a flexible and innovative leader with a keen understanding of change management and corporate culture.

 

 

 

Tim Tafflinger

Tim has 10 years experience in application development. Mr. Tafflinger is proficient in all phases of the development process from determining application requirements to the development, delivery and installation of the final project. His expertise includes database applications utilizing Microsoft Access with Access, SQL Server or Oracle backend databases. Tim’s applications have been used for managing trade shows, medical claims and day care programs.
